7/20/2010

Some people lie about their age but Guy has taken it to a whole new level... he bicked his head. I guess he thought hair made him look too young. Idk. It makes me want to cut my hair short and get a perm. I was at Walmart late one night and when I got home, he came out to help me bring things in. He had on a hat and we had a big long conversation outside before he broke the news to me. "Honey, I have to tell you something. Jonathan made me do it." "Oh no, what did you do?" Then he took off his hat and I saw all his WHITE, bald beauty. He's been talking about doing it for a long time. Hopefully he got it out of his system. It could be worse... he could have gotten razor burn or something. Yikes! Now that would have been bad.

My future.... Love him!

24th of July 2010

I love the 24th Celebration!! And was so excited to share the experience with Briggs. Last year Guy and I told everybody we were pregnant on the 24th so it was a little nostalgic to have him with us this year. Guy and I enjoyed the parade while Briggs slept in the truck. And then as we went to the feilds to eat, it started raining and we found some shelter under the ramada. After dinner, we met up with family: Ryan and kids, Preston and Lindsey, and Britni , Derek and kids, Mom, Dad, Trenton, Lincoln, Aunt April, Garret, and Alyssa and her family. The line for ice cream was too long so we ran to DQ before the firework show. I was excited to see how Briggs reacted to the fireworks. I was sick for the 4th so these were his first fireworks. He liked them! I watched his face more than the fireworks. He wasn't bothered at all by the noise. There was music playing behind us and he kept turning to see where it was coming from. He loves music! So I'd turn him back around to see the fireworks and he'd be enthralled until there was a break and he'd be back to the music.

Mom, Britni & the girls, and I went to Tucson today. We weren't going to be able to make Mary's baby shower on Saturday with all the 24th festivities going on, so we decided to throw her our own baby shower. On our way to pick her up to take her to lunch, we found out Lindsey was in town, so we invited her to join the party. We went to Olive Garden (yum) and gave her our gifts. It was lots of fun. I love my sisters! And I love that they love (or at least pretend to love) Briggs and hold him! While in Tucson, we had to stop by Ross and Eegies. At Ross, Briggs got his first shopping cart ride!! Shopping carts kind of gross me out and he kept falling over, so it didn't last long. But I bought a pattern to make a shopping cart liner so he can sit in it without me grossing out! I can't believe how fast he is growing up!

Briggs is eating rice cereal! We tried last month but after the first time he wasn't particularly thrilled so we gave it up. Now he really likes it...unless its mixed with just plain water. It has to be flavored with breastmilk or formula. Then he goes to town! The high chair I have is huge and it lays back really far. At first I thought this was going to be a problem so i was feeding him in his bumbo but he always bent over and it was hard to feed him. So I tried it in the highchair and it actually works out great. He just leans back and relaxes while he eats.
This news leads me to some more exciting news... Briggs will now drink a bottle of formula! This makes it much easier for me as far as working goes.

I can't believe how fast time has flown and how bigger Brigger is getting! What he's doing now:
-He can roll over on to his stomach on demand and accidentally but he hasn't figured out how to roll from front to back.
-He has a new face... the Zoolander face. I haven't been able to get a picture of Briggs face but this is the look for those of you that aren't familiar with Ben. Its mostly the mouth...
-He will sometimes suck on his bottom lip so it looks like he doesn't have one.
-He blows bubbles
-He likes to play with toys and puts everything in his mouth.
-He is super close to sitting. He does good for about 10 seconds then he topples over.
-He is a social boy with a contagious smile. When we go places he will stare at people until they look at him, then he gets a huge grin on his face which makes them smile, which makes him smile, which makes me smile, and around it goes.
-He cracks up at his dad, sometimes for no reason. Its really funny.

We love our boy and are so grateful he's ours and we have him for eternity!

Lunt Family Reunion! 7/8-10/2010

The Lunt Family Reunion was in Brentwood again this year. I love Brentwood and was super excited to go because I missed the last one, Guy would get to meet a lot of my family, my family would get to meet Briggs, I like being with family, there's always good food, new games, mountains are beautiful and not as hot, and I like camping. Guy took a day and a half off of work and we took off on Thursday afternoon. We got into camp just as it got dark. We barrowed a tent from Jonathan and Sarah and as we got it out to set up, realized it was the taj mahal. Thanks Ryan for helping us set it up. As we were setting up we thought, why would anyone ever want a tent this big! Later as we were taking it down we thought, why would anyone ever get a smaller tent than this? It was great!

Briggs didn't last the packing experience. It took a while...I may have slightly overdone it.

The drive was pretty long...

The inside of our palace. I didn't even get the other half in the picture.

Our little Eskimo boy. The poor campers next to us.... Briggs inherited the Lunt lungs and he was on a wake-up-every-two-hours kick while we were camping.

Grandma Erma Ray Lunt with most of her kids. Back L to R: Elaine and Kyle Baldwin, Jennifer and Dale Lunt, Dennis and Sandy Lunt, Glade and Carolyn Smith, Steve and Marsha Haymore. Front L to R: Doris and Larry Lunt, Grandma, and Jana Long
Missing: Gerald and Lucia Lunt, Randy and Joan Lunt

Guy and I went for a ride on the quad. The forest is so beautiful and peaceful!

Briggs stayed back at camp.

Mom got riding lessons from Trenton and rode down the bike trail.

Oh the joys of being a Lunt. You get to have this much fun! We had a competition between all my moms siblings. They had I think 5 different rounds and this was my favorite to watch. The bobble heads. They each had a pedometer attached to a headband and the one with the most "steps" won. It was a great night of games, laughing, and dancing.

Grandma with her Great grandchildren. Briggs is in the upper right.

Guy and I rode down the bike trail too.... in the pouring rain! It would have been awesome except it wasn't all down hill and my bike had a bit of a flat tire and had to be peddled to not slow down going down hill which made it 10 times harder going up hill... thankfully Guy traded me bikes! The rest of the bike ride was great fun!

Needless to say, the reunion was a blast!! It was really fun re-acquainting with cousins and cousin-in-laws. I way overshot with snacks though. I think overall, 3 snacks were eaten and we brought an ice chest full of soda and a laundry basket full of treats. Luckily people took some for the ride home so we didn't have a house full of junk.

7/2-4/2010

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Guy, Happy Birthday to you!! Guy turned 24! Since it was a Friday, I knew it would be a late day at work. So I figured, he'll probably be home around 7 or 8....not so. I waited and waited. and waited. until 10 when he finally stepped through the door! Poor boy. He was so tired he just wanted to go to bed. The plan was to celebrate the next day with a big party with cheesecake and homemade ice cream. But around 1AM, I felt the back pain coming on. Another kidney infection. I took Tylenol but it didn't even touch it. The pain reminds me of labor (I had back labor). We tried unsuccessfully for 4 hours to get in touch with the on-call doctor Sat morning. I couldn't sleep I hurt so bad. I finally asked Guy for a priesthood blessing. The blessing was very sweet. I went back to bad and slept! When I woke up, the pain was pretty much gone. I was able to go to the clinic that afternoon and get an antibiotic. I am so grateful for a husband that is a worthy priesthood holder and can bless our family in time of need.
In the mean time....
Guy's family was down to go to the temple, so thank you Jonathan and Sarah for throwing him his birthday party! Guy's favorite thing is to be with family, so I'm glad they were here for his "birthday". I went over to J & S's while I was waiting for my prescription to be filled. I made it just in time for Guy to blow out his candle, and make it in a few pictures.

Happy 4th of July!

We celebrated again on Sunday with my family. 3 days of happy birthday....lucky guy!
